Do you have any CANS to spare this summer?
The Galiano Preschool Society was founded in 1998 by a group of island parents to encourage playful activity for young children in a safe, happy environment. Their mandate is to support children with play-based learning as they develop their creative abilities, social and motor skills, and self confidence. The society is non-profit and has been made possible by government funding, grants, membership fees, donations, and fundraising.
Over the last 18 years Playgroup has offered parent-child drop-in sessions, facilitated drop-in sessions and Programs such as Baby Yoga, Nature Buddies, Art Lessons, Taekwondo, and Music Classes. They have also coordinated swimming and gymnastics in Victoria as well as offered various field trips on and off the island.
Playgroup is currently collecting cans for their annual bottle (can) drive in August. Would you be willing to put your cans aside for them to collect this summer? Please email Playgroup directly, as they would be happy to collect at your convenience. Otherwise, be sure to save up and drop off your cans at the Recycling Center on Saturday August 18th 2018!
