We’re looking for energetic, self-motivated people to join our team of conscientious recyclers! This job is ideal for those who enjoy physical tasks, interacting with the community and responding to a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must be available to work Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays in our recycling centre. With summer coming we have scheduled shifts to fill (to a maximum of 18 hours per week) and also have need for casual employees to be called in on short notice.
Recycling Assistant duties include:
Assisting community members with their recycling; sorting/handling materials; operating processing equipment; and being available to step in to help where needed. This is a physical job and involves some moderate lifting of up to 40lbs.
GIRR is committed to paying a living wage as set by Living Wage for Families BC (Victoria), currently $25.40 per hour. Training will be provided.
