For this month’s Repair Workshop series, we’re hosting a clothing swap alongside our clothing repair station. Bonus: minor alterations will be available too.
For the swap, everyone is invited to bring a maximum of 10 articles of clothing from your closet. Kids clothes are welcome too. Choose items that you would be happy to receive, but perhaps no longer suit your needs. We’ll be ready to welcome you and your offerings at the Galiano Island South Community Hall on Saturday April 8th at 1:30 pm. Come prepared to share what you bring and find new treasures to take home. At 4:30 we’ll be packing it all up to take the remaining items for donation to our local thrift store.
And if the clothing swap isn’t your thing, you’re still welcome to come with an item for mending. Sit in on the repair and learn some tips from our expert sewers & repairers.
GIRR’s Repair Workshop Series is grateful for the support of the CRD’s Rethink Waste Community grant. We’re all working together to keep items in use and out of the waste management system before their time.
