
Through the generous support of the Vancity Community Foundation, GIRR is embarking on a pilot project to recycle select post-consumer plastics on site. To get this project up and running, we are looking for someone with an innovative mind and an affinity for machinery to install equipment and develop systems for this new program. The individual selected for the short-term role of Plastics Process Developer will be self-motivated and comfortable working on their own.
Plastics Process Developer duties will include but not be limited to:
• Installing, learning and testing new equipment
• Sorting and processing materials through plastics shredder and press
• Testing and developing recycling production methods
• Maintaining records and communicating findings
This contract is anticipated to run approximately 60 hours over a three-month period with the possibility of moving into a new long-term position as Plastics Processor. Plastics Process Developer starting wage to be determined.
