We are looking to expand our on-call list for Recycling Assistant at the depot. Having people we can bring in when staff need time off due to sickness, holidays or unforeseen events helps us to keep things running smoothly. Come be part of our extended team while supporting our community recycling centre!
Recycling Assistant Duties will include:
Assisting community members with their recycling; processing of materials; and being available to step in to help where needed.
This is a physical job and involves some moderate lifting of up to 40lbs. Flexibility to respond to tasks as they arise is a valued asset! Must be willing to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Thursday mornings.
GIRR is committed to paying a living wage as set by Living Wage for Families BC (Salt Spring Island), currently $26.25 per hour. There will be orientation hours to train for the role.
