The recycling centre will be closed on Friday, April 18th for the statutory holiday. Our staff will be taking a well-earned break and will be back at it ready for you on Saturday morning.

We’ll be open for regular operating hours on the 18th:

Recycling depot from 9:30 to 2:30; the ReDirectory from 10 to 1.

To kick off the new year right, we’re happy to announce that we have partnered with Interchange Recycling bringing used oil, used antifreeze, oil & antifreeze containers, and oil filters recycling to Galiano. We are now accepting the following materials through the Interchange Recycling Program:

Every December we adjust our regular weekly openings for our ICI (Commercial) sector, to a biweekly schedule. This helps to keep the cost of operating the program down, thus keeping the recycling rates for our local small businesses low. Our 2024/2025 winter ICI schedule will be alternating Thursdays from 10 am to 12 noon, open on the following days:
